“Atlas de la Innovación. Nuevo Madrid Mix_NMM” is an operational atlas for a new hybrid urban model. The book is a reflection about how a new economy can be developed in the City of Madrid, including a research about the two main challenges in the Urbanoceno age: the climate change and the socioeconomy crisis of the territorial inequalities. Both are totally linked with the post-covid era we are facing. “Nuevo Madrid Mix” is based on a collection of innovative case studies from ten different cities and regions around the world landing in the specific context of Madrid. These international references –London Rotterdam, Brussels, Nantes, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna, Seoul, Tokyo- are presented from different angles: practice, academy, or directly from the municipalities. The methodology of the research is organized around five variables: operational meridians, geographic parallels, markets, gradients of innovation, and time.
The ideas and references are adapted from the global to the local context of Madrid with a series of recommendations and a “landing plan” for a new and prosper economic model for Madrid, including the needed changes in the NZ9 (Norma Zonal 9) which is addressing from long time ago the development of the productive land in Madrid.

Thanks to the Área de Desarrollo Urbano and the Dirección General de Planificación Estratégica of the City of Madrid, and the impressive collection of international partners from ten different cities around the world: London (RIBA), Rotterdam (AIR), Brussels (BMA, Kristiaan Borret), Nantes (SAMOA, Alain Bertrand, Marieke Zeegers), Paris (KH Studio, Alessandro delli Ponti), Barcelona (AMB, Noemí Martínez, Josep María Carreras, Xavier Mariño), Berlin (plattformberlin, Jens Metz), Vienna (StudioVlayStreeruwitz, Bernd Vlay, Lina Streeruwitz), Seoul (Praud, Rafael Luna, Dongwoo Yim), and Tokyo (furii studio, Noemí Gómez, Diego Martín).
